Andrew designed this pot specifically for orchids and other epiphytes that crave good aeration. I recommend potting with less absorbent mediums like sphagnum moss in favor of orchid bark. If potted this way, it is hard to over water and I have seen increased growth and spike production.
Pots may also be used as cachepots (pot covers) for plants requiring soil mediums.
Pots are easily hung near windows using the attached wiring or set atop surfaces without other support.
